I started this post May 30th while visiting family in Northern Va. My sister sells new homes and told me that people were camping out for the new lot releases and her builder was going to a lottery system. I thought WOW! could that happen in Cary or the Triangle area? I wanted to get a good photo and some more info, got busy and put off writing the post.
New homes are hot in Cary
I know inventory is low, there aren’t many good homes for sale in the $300,000-$500,000 especially new homes. Take a look at this video from the Triangle MLS
Last week I was showing a client new homes in Cary. We headed over to Green Hope School Rd. because there are some great neighborhoods there, Sears Farm Road Park , and Highcroft Elementary.
It was a lot release lottery!
On the way to The Oaks at Highcroft we passed a huge cleared area with bulldozers working. There was also a sales trailer and a bunch of balloons A new neighborhood is starting up, Fryers Gate. We decided to stop for a brochure. It was packed and all 4 offices were full. I finally found a sales agent to help us and it turns out we had walked in on a lot release lottery. Right here in Cary!! The single family lot release was over and they had 80 names in the bowl for the townhome lottery. The next lottery will be in a couple of months for homes to be ready in the fall of 2014. That won’t work for my client so we moved on.
If you want a new home in Cary plan ahead and allow lots of time. You might even have to camp out!
