The Triangle Parade of Homes is takes place in the fall every year. Builders from all over the Triangle showcase their work and compete for the gold, silver and bronze awards in price range categories. Visiting the best of the best is a great way to see the trends and compare builders work.
I noticed that the modern farmhouse style is still going strong on the exterior. White is THE exterior color with black windows or accents.
There weren’t many all white kitchens, builders were mixing white with grey and wood toned cabinets.
Hardware and Fixtures
Most model homes on the Parade have a mixture of metals on fixtures and hardware, Gold, bronze, black, pewter and stainless mixed together. Interiors often follow fashion and fashion has been mixing metals for quite a while now.
I noticed a trend the most when it was missing. Walking through several builders million+ spec homes everything was brushed stainless. It’s amazing how dated it looked but a builder is going to play it safe with that price home.
Just a few newer looking light fixtures or cabinet pulls would have made a difference. One builder had all of the accessories in bronze/gold to bring the mixed metal look in to the all stainless home. Another builder had a brass chandelier in the master bedroom that looked like it had been saved from the 90’s. Not the right look but a good try!
I noticed a lot of patterned tile. Colors are greige, black, cream, tans and some browns. Very earthy and graphic. Not much subway.
Many more master baths without tubs. Super showers are so in right now. I wonder when buyers will figure out how cold it can be in a huge shower?
This is a nice sized shower. Hand held shower wands are a trend.
I’m not sure about this bath. Just too much going on and those 90’s pickled cabinets… I’m sure the designers weren’t born when those were trending! I admire the try and maybe it will catch on.
I’ll be keeping you up with the Triangle builder trends. I love new construction!
