Cary NC POOLS

Many neighborhoods in  Cary have community pools. They range from small pools with just a bath house to neighborhoods with multiple pools, swim teams and waterslides.

What if you love a house that isn’t in a Cary or Apex neighborhood with a pool? What are the options for the kids and adults who want a pool to meet friends and swim?

Pools in Cary with Public Membership

 Outdoor Pools

Cary Park Swim Club Did you know you don’t have to live in Cary Park to join the pool? It’s more expensive if you aren’t a Cary Park resident ($595 family membership vs $440 for a CP resident) but if the home of your dreams happens to be down the road this is a terrific option.

River Rock Swim Club is another neighborhood style pool with activities. It’s on Evans Rd. near the Cary Parkway.

The Pool at Shepherds Vineyard is in Apex off HWY 64 and pretty convenient to West Cary. They have volleyball and tennis too. I love the name of their swim team, The Killer Whales. This is a great club and the fees are reasonable. A family membership is $440 with a $250 one time fee.

Scottish Hills Recreation Club I’ve heard from my clients that this is a low key friendly pool to join.  It’s like a neighborhood pool with diving boards, waterslide, tennis, volleyball, frisbee and a baby pool.

Prestonwood Country Club It’s a beautiful club with 3 pools. The least expensive level of membership required to use the pool is a Social membership. It’s pricy and may be more than what you want.

Indoor Pools

UNC Wellness Center is in West Cary. There are swim lessons and classes for adults and kids. This isn’t a hang out on a Saturday with the kids. The members here are serious. From the website: Classes in Advanced Deep Water, Aqua 101, Aqua fit and tone, Aquatic Boot camp, Aqua tots, Gentle Aqua, H2O Running, and Performance Swim Training. Lap lanes are always available.

Triangle Aquatic Center  This is a huge indoor swimming complex. The swim team is the largest in the Triangle. All levels of swim lessons. It’s located in an older area of Cary (none of Cary is THAT old) and not very convenient to West Cary.

Indoor/Outdoor Pools

Cary YMCA  In the summer the YMCA has an outdoor pool. In the summer they put a bubble over it and it becomes an indoor pool. The Y is hugely popular and worth checking out. It’s located on Cary Parkway near Bond Lake.

Lifetime fitness has both indoor and outdoor pools. Kids love the waterslides. The location is on Regency Parkway.

Cary Swim Club  is located pretty close to the Triangle Aquatic Center. It’s outdoor but they have a tent pool cover and heaters for the winter. The club also has tennis, picnic area and basketball. Because of the activities it’s more like a neighborhood pool than the Aquatic center.

How I get paid as a buyers agent

If you've bought and sold homes in the past you may already understand how buyers agents get paid but I thought I would go ahead and explain. I always hate wondering about things like this so I thought it would be helpful.
-The seller has a listing contract with a real estate brokerage company to pay a fee for selling the house. It's negotiable but typically 5-6% in the Triangle.
-The Multiple Listing Service was invented for brokers to share their home listings with other brokers in the network and guarantee the agents from different companies would get paid for selling the home.
-The MLS is a promise (contract) by the listing real estate company to pay the selling company(who brings the buyer) a specified fee. In the Triangle this is typically 2.4%-3%. The listing company keeps the rest.
-My commission is already included in the price of the home so you don't save money if you are not represented by a buyers agent.
-Builders will also pay my fee if you let them know you are represented and include me in the first or early visit.
