HGTV’s House Hunters came to Cary
Last summer, in the heat of July, HGTV’s House Hunters came to the Cary area to shoot an episode with me, Marianne Howell Wright, as the Realtor. It was a lot of work but fun and I think the producers captured the feeling of my clients house search. One of the different things about our episode was showing my clients having wine on their new front porch with their neighbors and their kids playing with new friends. They had only been living in the house a few days!
Audition Videos
My clients applied to be on House Hunters and shortly after, HGTV contacted us to say we were under consideration. They asked us to make audition videos. Here is mine.
It’s pretty choppy because I had to get it under 3 minutes and was at a home inspection when I made it. There were constant interruptions with the 3 inspectors, the trash trucks and a baby next door crying. I had to get it turned in that afternoon because the casting director had a “pitch meeting” and had to have it by 4PM.
The next week I got a Congratulations! email from the House Hunters producer with paperwork and a schedule.
The show was shot during the 5 hottest days of the summer. One day in Connecticut with my clients at their home, 3 days with me touring the 3 houses and one day with my clients at their new home.
They choose the house in Cary
The decision was hard. The homes were in Cary, Chapel Hill and Holly Springs. This is a video of the actual decision and I think the producers captured the feeling in the show.
My clients love their new home and neighborhood in Cary and feel it was worth the search to find just the right home and neighborhood for them. The elementary school is in the neighborhood and the neighborhood pool is adjacent to their back yard. There is a park next door and shopping just down the street.
